Soybean oil prices have been increased in the Bangladeshi market. The price of bottled soybean oil has been raised by Tk 14 per litre, and loose soybean oil by Tk 12 per litre. On Tuesday (April 15, 2025), after a review meeting at the Secretariat on the import and supply of edible oil, Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin announced the hike.
He stated that the new price of bottled soybean oil is Tk 189 per litre, up from Tk 175. Loose soybean oil has been raised to Tk 169 per litre. The new prices will take effect immediately. Earlier, on the night of April 13, the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association had issued a notice announcing the price hike, but it wasn’t implemented as the government had yet to approve it.
It’s worth noting that the last price increase for bottled soybean oil was on December 9 of last year, when the price was set at Tk 175 per litre.
