The Trade and Tariff Commission has recommended increasing the price of edible oil again. According to the organization's proposal, the price of bottled soybean oil may increase by 9 taka 27 paisa per liter.

According to the Trade and Tariff Commission, this recommendation has been made due to the increase in oil prices in the international market and the appreciation of the dollar exchange rate. In early November, the price of soybean oil per metric ton in the international market stood at 1,062 dollars, and the price of palm oil at 1,037 dollars.

According to the recommendation, the maximum retail price of bottled soybean oil per liter has been proposed to be increased from 189 taka to 198 taka 27 paisa. On the other hand, the price of open soybean oil has been recommended to be increased by 8 taka 85 paisa to 177 taka 85 paisa.
