From January to July, Russia supplied sunflower oil to India worth $815 million, taking 1st place among suppliers of this product, according to the press service of OleoScope, citing data from the federal center Agroexport under the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
As noted, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, cited by Agroexport, Ukraine ranked 2nd among the largest suppliers of sunflower oil to the Indian market with $374 million, and Argentina ranked 3rd with $196 million. Last year, Russia held 4th place among suppliers of fat-and-oil products to the Indian market.
In total, during January-July of this year, India purchased 1.3 million tons of sunflower oil on the foreign market worth $1.6 billion.
According to OleoScope, sunflower oil exports to India from the beginning of the year through September amounted to 630.000 tons, and soybean oil – 89.000 tons.
